Hodgson’s Peaks, Rivers, caves and wilderness beneath the Giants Cup
Cobham Nature Reserve is a major Southern Drakensberg wilderness gateway near Himeville and Underberg. It protects the Pholela River Valley, mountain grasslands, sandstone caves, rock-art sites and remote routes towards the escarpment. Popular experiences include river walks, trout fishing, camping, overnight caves and sections of the Giant’s Cup Trail. Siphongweni Shelter is among the important rock-art locations in the reserve, although access conditions and guiding requirements must be confirmed.
Permits & Fees
Ezemvelo conservation, camping, fishing and overnight wilderness fees apply. Visitors must complete the hiking register before entering remote areas.
