1. Information we collect
When you create an account or make a booking we collect your name, email address, phone number and any special requests you provide. Suppliers additionally provide business details for their listings.
We do not store full payment card details on our servers. Payment information is handled by our payment processing provider.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to process bookings, communicate booking confirmations and changes, connect you with the suppliers you book with, and improve the platform.
Suppliers you book with receive the guest details needed to fulfil your booking (name, party size, dates, contact details and special requests).
3. Sharing
We share booking details with the relevant supplier only. We do not sell personal information to third parties.
4. Retention and your rights
We retain booking records for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes. Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting hello@visitdrakensberg.com.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We set one kind of cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary, because without it you cannot stay logged in or reach your account. We set no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies of our own, and we run no third-party advertising or analytics tags.
Your trip planning selections, cart and browsing measurements are kept in your browser’s local storage rather than in cookies. They stay on your device and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
We use Google Maps for address search and for driving distances. Google may set its own cookies when it loads, and that is governed by Google’s privacy policy rather than ours. It loads when you type in an address field, and on pages that show you the driving distance from a stay you have selected. It does not load on pages that use neither.
6. Suppliers and your booking details
The supplier you book with receives the details needed to deliver your booking. Under our Supplier Agreement they act as an operator for us within the meaning of POPIA: they may use your information only to deliver the booking, may not market to you without your own consent, must keep it secure, and must report any breach to us within 72 hours.
If you believe a supplier has misused your information, tell us at hello@visitdrakensberg.com or through our concern channel at /report-a-concern.
