Kamberg Nature Reserve
Where the story of San rock art comes alive.
Kamberg Nature Reserve protects rolling foothills, river valleys, sandstone formations and culturally important rock-art shelters. Its principal attraction is Game Pass Shelter, regarded as one of the most significant San rock-art sites in Southern Africa. Guided tours from the Kamberg Rock Art Centre explain the symbolism, spiritual traditions and daily life represented in the paintings. The reserve also offers trout fishing, birding, riverside walks and access to the surrounding Little Berg.
Permits & Fees
Conservation fees apply. Game Pass Shelter may only be visited through an authorised guided experience. Fishing and overnight accommodation are charged separately.
